HISTORY:
Kings Christian Church, Temora was established by Kings Christian Church, Wagga Wagga under the oversight of Senior Pastor Michael Skewes. Local couple Geoff and Pauleen Kite and others had been travelling to the Wagga church on a regular basis resulting in the decision to start a church in Temora.
The first service was held on March 12th 2005 at the High School MPU with weekly services commencing on April 3rd 2005 at the Town Hall. The Temora church was supported by teams travelling up from Wagga Wagga on a weekly basis. Ps Aaron Jackson ( then Youth Pastor) was appointed as Temora's Lead Pastor for 2 years, followed by Ps Roderick Allen for approx 6 months.
The church has
seen a few changes since those early days with Ps Michael Skewes moving to
Queensland in October 2007 after serving at the Wagga church for 19 years.
After a brief period Ps Aaron Jackson was appointed Senior Pastor Wagga,
which meant he could no longer travel to Temora.
In June 2008 Ps
Patricia Morris along with husband David took on the role as Lead Pastors under
the oversight of the Wagga Church. The church grew to a stage where it was able
to branch out on its own so from January 2010 Ps Patricia and David were
appointed Senior Pastors of Kings, Temora which then had its own governing body
(Board).
At that time David and Patricia also moved from their home in Wagga Wagga to take up residence in Temora.
